Previously all sales were hidden, now sales by default are public once they are open for entries. This means they will show up on the site
homepage, and on the list of active sales, which is available to all site visitors. You can still mark sales as totally private if you wish,
in which case the site will not publicise it.
There is also a list of sellers on the site, which is available to logged in users. If you would rather not appear on this list, you can make your
profile private from the "Your Details" page, seller tab.
Note, if you make your profile private, the default setting for your sales will become private, however you can still override that for individual sales in the create sale or edit sale forms
Create Sale
Much improved image uploader on create sale form, finally you just click the "Find picture" button, and select the image you want to upload from the file browser
that appears, and the image is uploaded in the background!
Price you enter on create sale form is finally shown on sale page
Although First-come, First-served sales and Give AWays were available previously, by configuring the create sale form correctly, they are now available as
new explicit sale types, which should make them easier for you to use
There is a new Auction sale type available. See this help page for more information
Anti-Sniping is available for auctions with a scheduled end time, you can enable this in the create sale page, and you can configure your
personal anti-snipe settings (threshold and time to add) in your seller panel in "Your Details".
Dogpiles can be enabled on the create sale page, if enabled then logged in users can dogpile existing bidders as an alternative to bidding
themselves. For completed auctions there is an option to email all dogpilers of the winner, as well as the winner themselves
Naughty list
There is a new "Naughty list" facility. If people mess you about after winning an item, with a couple of clicks you can add them to your naughty list. Then
if they enter any of your subsequent sales (of types where winners are drawn - ie SUS, GAW) then they will be automatically disqualified from winning.
In addition you can subscribe to the site's "Global Naughty list" to exclude people put on the naughty list by other sellers.
Note the Naughty list only works for SignUpSale and Give AWay type sales, it does not exclude people from bidding/dogpiling your auctions or entering your FCFS sales
You can also choose to add people to your Naughty list when you manually disqualify sale entries.
You can manually add the email addresses of people you don't like to your Naughty list at any time.
To use this facility, just check that the "Use Naughty list" checkbox is ticked in the seller tab of your user details page. Likewise if you wish to use the global
naughty list there is a checkbox for that on the same tab...
After Sale
There draw/publish winners thing used to be one button, it's now two steps, you draw the winners, then publish them, with two clicks.
When you do the draw, in addition to the winners chosen for the items available, backup winners are chosen and displayed so you can easily
pick people from that list if you have any problems with the actual winners.
You've always been able to manually archive old sales, now you don't have to bother, sales are automatically archived one month after closing. You can still see all your old
sales under the "Archived" section of your "My sales" page.
There is now a "Print winners" page for offline post sale processing - you can select the number of columns you want, then simply print the page, and use the
printed results for keeping track of who's paid, which items have been dispatched, whatever you like (Thanks to Tom Krein for the idea!).
Once your sale is ended a Map button should appear in your Sale admin panel, which will take you to a map showing the locations of your sale entries or winners. Note this
is work in progress, and might not be enabled as the location data is currently being manually downloaded in batches. Also note, this location information is derived
from the IP address of the entry, this is not absolutely accurate, and sometimes only returns a country, so you can end up with a cluster of entries in the dead
center of the USA!
Invoicing
You now have access to a live invoice, under your user menu in the menu, go to "Your charges". From here you can pay your outstanding fees (as long as over $10)
with Paypal with a couple of clicks. You can also view your previously paid invoices
Note, you cannot view the manual invoices I produced for the old site, only invoices generated by this new site.
Misc
You can now easily search your sales for keywords from your "My sales" page
