Configure monitors help

Basic Instructions

Settings tab

Ensure your account email is correct if you wish to receive email notifications. It should be correct if you registered your account in the normal way, unless you've changed email address since you registered.

If you would prefer to only receive notifications by instant notification and avoid filling your email inbox, then tick the "Only Instant" checkbox, and click the Update button.

Monitor tabs

Tick the boxes for monitors you would like to receive updates for, and when done, click the big update button at the bottom.

Note, all of the Settings and Monitors tabs are actually displayed from one web page, so you do not have to Update on each one, you can click through all the tabs and check/uncheck the options you want, then click Update once, when you've finished, to save all your changes..

Keyword Filtering

Some of the monitors allow you to filter notifications based on Keywords contained in the posts, or to be more accurate the post titles

To use this facility:

  • On the Monitor tabs, tick the boxes for monitors you would like to receive updates for
  • Click "Filter Keywords" on the monitor in question. (If the button isn't there then I'm sorry but keyword filtering is not currently available on that particular monitor)
  • A new row will open up underneath with an input text box
  • In this text box, enter a comma separated list of keywords. (Maximum length 255 characters)
  • Important Notes:
    • Keywords are not case sensitive. Simply enter "atwood" - and it will match "Atwood", "ATWOOD" or "atwood".
    • If you enter more than one keyword then posts containing ANY of your keywords will be notified.
    • Beware, some monitors (including forum monitor) only scan post titles, not the whole post contents. Therefore if none of your keywords are in the post title then you will NOT be notified even if the post itself contains your keyword(s).
    • If you are unsure what you are doing, it's probably best to leave the monitors unfiltered, because badly used filtering will likely cause you to miss sales you wanted...
    • Filters will cause you to miss sales for items you want, if the seller has miss-spelt the word in question
  • When finished, click the big update button at the bottom of the page
